All About Brown German Shepherd Puppies

Home / Puppies / All About Brown German Shepherd Puppies

Brown German Shepherd puppies are among the cutest and most energetic puppies that you can find. Before the puppies mature into full German Shepherd dogs (GSDs), you want to make sure that you raise them properly.

Raising a GSD isn’t too much different than raising any other types of puppies. One of the main things to keep in mind is to make sure that they get enough exercise. Here, we will also cover a few more pointers to help ensure that your brown German Shepherd puppies grow strong and healthy.

Caring for Brown German Shepherd Puppies

Puppies are rather high maintenance, and they need a lot of love and attention. GSDs are no different. You need to make sure that you have a lot of time available to take care of your puppy.

If you can’t be available all the time, then you need to make sure that someone is around. That someone could be a professional trainer, a spouse, or a teenager or child living with you who is old enough to care for the dog.

Once you know that there’s enough love and attention available for your pup around the clock, you’ve covered the most important step!

Food for GSD Puppies

If you’re raising brown German Shepherd puppies then you need to remember that they are going to grow into larger-than-average dogs. This means that they often eat more food than other dog breeds.

Fortunately, there are lots of companies that make food specifically for GSD puppies. These will have feeding instructions on the package, but you’ll often want to feed your puppies about 4 times a day for the first month or so.

Exercise for Brown German Shepherd Puppies

Brown GSD puppies are among the most energetic dogs, which means that they’re going to need a lot of exercise. If you don’t give your dog plenty of high-intensity activities like running, swimming, or playing with other dogs, then they’re going to find other outlets for their energy.

Many people who think they have a disobedient or ‘bad’ dog just haven’t given it enough exercise. Tire your pup out and they’ll leave your furniture alone!

GSD Health Precautions

German Shepherds are prone to certain types of health problems and it’s important to be cautious of these potential puppy challenges. One issue that GSDs often face more than other dogs is known as hip dysplasia, a condition that can be prevented by providing your dog with proper nutrition.

It’s also a good idea to minimize jogging and running on concrete. Repeatedly slapping feet on concrete is bad for humans, and it’s not great for dogs either. Try to go for runs on grass or sandy areas.

GSDs may also end up with digestive issues. Make sure to avoid giving them raw food until their digestive tract is developed.

Conclusion

GSDs are fantastic, loyal, and high-energy companions who are great to have around. They require exercise, love, and good food to develop into healthy animals. Follow these guidelines and your brown German Shepherd Puppies will grow up happy.
